Darin Green, Jr. Press Release

Oviedo, Florida (August 9, 2021) – Darin Green, Jr., a returning Guard for UCF® Basketball, has entered a partnership to monetize his name, image and likeliness (NIL) with an Oviedo, FL apparel company with ties to UCF® reaching all the way back to 1969, when it was known as FTU.

“After the NIL law went into effect, I wanted to build my own brand of apparel and partner with a company that could help design, produce and handle the fulfillment. But, the company had to also share my values and be able to do creative work. It’s a tall order, but Alpha Authentics is a perfect fit.”, says Green.

Green’s priority will remain pursuing his degree in Human Communication, concentrating on basketball, family and his faith, all of which Alpha Authentics used as inspiration for his new logo and approach to designing his apparel. It’s also the foundation for Green’s brand that can stay with him throughout his career at UCF® and beyond.

“We’re committed to helping Darin reach his goals. Our plan is to build a long-term partnership that not only compensates him for his NIL on apparel, but to also offer support with his other endeavors. We want to be an extension of his support team and help him succeed however we can.”, says Alpha Authentics owner Ryan Jessee.

Mr. Jessee adds, “My dad played at UCF®, (then FTU) on the inaugural basketball team in 1969 under Coach Torchy Clark. They had no team budget, no uniforms, no gym and certainly no options for monetizing their NIL. If utilized the right way, I understand how the NIL law can make a real difference in helping shape an athlete’s future, and we want to do our part in supporting that. One of our company core values is First, Help Others, so that’s what we’re doing.”

A part of Green’s partnership with Alpha Authentics will include appearances to share his knowledge and experience throughout Central Florida by participating in basketball camps, clinics and various outreach programs.

The first collection of Green’s apparel will be available in August 2021 on the Alpha Authentics website.
